Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference. [The Road Not Taken] (Robert Frost)

"Buffalo River" Oil Painting (Sold)

"First Ice - Fort Madison" Oil Painting (Sold)
24" X 16" Original Oil on Canvas
This scene is on the riverfront in Fort Madison, Iowa, between the Historic Fort and the Swing Bridge on the Mississippi River. I lived in Fort Madison for a couple years and throughly enjoyed the Eagles that congregate there in the wintertime. This painting was offered in a Ducks Unlimited Fundraiser and brought a nice price. The purchaser owned a TugBoat Company and asked me to paint TubBoat in it, which I did. This was the first Ice that year and I got this quick pic of an Eagle in Flight with lots of seagulls standing on the ice.

"Sedona Trails" Oil Painting $ 1200.00
30" X 40" Original Oil on Canvas
In about 1999 I took in a weeklong work shop in Sedona with Artist William Scott Jennings. I took my two daughters, Holly & Tammy with me on the trip. We drove down and had a great time. I painted on location all week with our group and the girls shopped, hiked and did all kinds of fun stuff. They took lots of pictures and this painting was done in the studio after our return from a photo. The rock formations are unreal around Sedona - if you have never been there. It's a mystical place and the week was very inspiring. It was also a great time with the girls.

"Timeless Tranquility" Oil Painting $ 850.00
18" X 24" Original Oil on Canvas
This was painted about the same time as the one above, "Sedona Trails". One day on our Sedona trip the girls and I drove up to the Grand Canyon. This scene is from the South Rim. Such an inspiring area, with panoramic views everywhere you look.

"Elk in Aspens" Oil Painting $ 750.00
18" X 24" Original Oil on Canvas
During my 18 or so years I lived in Colorado - I was an avid Bowhunter for Elk. I took many extended backpack trips into the back country. I normally went alone and have a wealth of memories. I am glad that I did that when I was young, as I know my knees wouldnt allow me to enjoy it now as I did then. This painting was a memory painting of some of the places I have been.

"Bennett Springs" Oil Painting (Sold)
12" X 42" Original Oil on Canvas
One day while driving thru the Ozarks I stopped in at Bennett Springs. The large spring flows into the Niangua River there and it is a State Trout Park, with crystal clear water. I watched this guy fishing and took several pics of him, then later rendered this image. It had some really rich colors in it. This painting sold at the Gallery in Eureka Springs.

"New Hatch" Oil Painting $ 250.00
14" X 11" Original Oil on Clayboard
This painting was concieved the same day as the one above, at Bennett Springs. I watched this fisherman and although the fish were rising, he was having a hard time "Matching the Hatch" so was continually changing fly color and type. Fly fishing is a great sport.

"Kings River Bridge" Oil Painting (Sold)
24" X 18" Original Oil on Canvas
This was the old bridge over the Kings River between Berryville & Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It has since been demolished and replace with an ugly modern expressway. I had wanted to paint this bridge for several years and just barely made it down prior to its demo. This bridge architecture is simular to many of the old bridges in the Ozarks. I hate to see them go.

"A Never Ending Job" Oil Painting (Sold)
18" X 24" Original Oil on Canvas
In the ranching business, maintaining barbed wire fences is a never ending job. I've done my share of it. This painting was done during my cowboy years.

"Sean McCarthy" Oil Painting $ 500.00
18" X 24" Original Oil on Canvas
Sean is a good friend of mine. He and his wife Betty are genuine folks and full time ranchers.. I have been invited several times during cattle working days. They are Missouri transplants from Montana and still do many things the cowboy way. When they work calves, they gather on horseback, sort, then heel rope and drag. They say it puts less stress on the calves, and I will agree with them. I have gathered many research photos from their ranch.
